Never Trust A Hippy

Chloe with the letter NFor the Blogging from A to Z Challenge, I’m having Fun with Fonts. Each day I’ll feature a few I like based on either the look of the font or its name. I’ll also pick a font to inspire one of my tweet tales

The past two weeks I’ve featured fonts formed out of lots of weird things, especially a surprising number of animals. Today’s first font is made out of something else I never would have considered shaping letters out of: Nails. But now that I think about it, it makes sense even in the real world. You could pour out a box of nails and form letters with them, and they bend easily enough to form the curved parts as well. So I guess creating a font out of them isn’t that weird after all.

Speaking of fonts made out of weird things, Night Vigil is made out of buildings. I think it’s cool how the letters really do look like buildings while still being readable.

Next up we have Ninjas because ninjas make everything better, right?

Neon Lights is another of those I think would look better in color, but even in black-and-white, I still think it does a nice job of conveying the 3D feel of neon signs.

For my tweet tale inspiration I’m using Never Trust A Hippy. Apparently there is a history behind the phrase, but I like it because of the groovy pattern.
Never Trust a Hippy
“Does this make me look fat?” “No way, the swirls make you look groovy.” Looking in the mirror, I think Dawn’s lying so she can steal Jerry.

What do you think of these fonts? Do they inspire any stories in your mind? How Nifty is Chloe with her letter N?

Ha, Ninja font. In reality though, shouldn't it be a blank page because you never see ninjas coming. ;)

These are the most fun yet! I like all of them so much, I can't even pick a fave. I think the building one is the most unique though. :)

I love Night Vigil. It reminds me of the typefaces used on the covers of David Macaulay's books.

These N fonts are wonderful. I love the Ninja one, but it takes up so much space.

The Nails font is really cute and yet masculine. ;)

Hah! Ninjas is taking the bacon on this one. Have you show Alex J Cavanaugh that font yet? He should totally include it in one of his posts. =)

I'd go with the Nail font. Great for hammering out a story.

Looks like the Ninja font is the clear winner this time. Although, Bob, I love your pun-y reason to pick the Nail font. Appreciate everyone who stopped by!
