For the Blogging from A to Z Challenge, I’m having Fun with Fonts. Each day I’ll feature a few I like based on either the look of the font or its name. I’ll also pick a font to inspire one of my tweet tales.
Like most kids who grew up in the 80’s, I loved Pac-man. I know kids growing up with today’s sophisticated games (where the characters almost look like they can step from the screen) would sneer at a yellow circle chomping on simple dots, but it was just as addicting as today’s games. After hours of playing, I would sometimes dream of colored ghosts chasing me to the whacka whacka sounds. And hearing the jaunty theme song brings back many childhood memories, which is why I think I like the Pacmania font so much.
Pustule is really gross, but I have to admire the designer for turning something so foul into a font.
Now for something cuter to cleanse you palette: Panda Spots. While the letters aren’t actually formed out of pandas like many of the other animal fonts, the pudgy shape of the letters reminds me of the adorable roly-poly bears, in addition to the black-and-white coloring.
I like the look of Penelope because it’s an interesting mix of hard angles and swirls.
I have several friends who are big fans of My Little Pony, so as soon as I saw Pony Rides, I knew it was going to be my tweet tale inspiration for today.
Fleeing fighting parents,she jumps on horse,whispers in his ear,“Take me someplace magical.” “Hang on,”he neighs & leaps beyond the rainbow.
