Never Trust A Hippy
April 16, 2014

Chloe with the letter NFor the Blogging from A to Z Challenge, I’m having Fun with Fonts. Each day I’ll feature a few I like based on either the look of the font or its name. I’ll also pick a font to inspire one of my tweet tales

The past two weeks I’ve featured fonts formed out of lots of weird things, especially a surprising number of animals. Today’s first font is made out of something else I never would have considered shaping letters out of: Nails. But now that I think about it, it makes sense even in the real world. You could pour out a box of nails and form letters with them, and they bend easily enough to form the curved parts as well. So I guess creating a font out of them isn’t that weird after all.

Speaking of fonts made out of weird things, Night Vigil is made out of buildings. I think it’s cool how the letters really do look like buildings while still being readable.

Next up we have Ninjas because ninjas make everything better, right?
Ninjas

Neon Lights is another of those I think would look better in color, but even in black-and-white, I still think it does a nice job of conveying the 3D feel of neon signs.

For my tweet tale inspiration I’m using Never Trust A Hippy. Apparently there is a history behind the phrase, but I like it because of the groovy pattern.
Never Trust a Hippy
“Does this make me look fat?” “No way, the swirls make you look groovy.” Looking in the mirror, I think Dawn’s lying so she can steal Jerry.

What do you think of these fonts? Do they inspire any stories in your mind? How Nifty is Chloe with her letter N?
